+Z.`)x-b,dRumors and speculation have flooded forums about the new Escort Laser ShifterPro. The Escort press release and CES review has limited content that hardcore enthusiasts and testers can really bite. The most common question is, "Is the Escort Laser ShifterPro" a private label or licensed reproduction of the current Laser Interceptor?" Nobody is admitting anything and really they don't have to because Escort and Laser Interceptor are private companies(btw did you know Escort recently sold off to another company? :-) The laser jammer heads and control box look identical to each other with exception to one thing. LI's(Laser Interceptor) control box is gray and Escorts is black according to the press release image. If you go to Escort's forum they don't even have a section for the new product. Let me give you some advice because history always repeats itself.

1. If you were in the market to buy a Laser Interceptor I would wait until the Escort LaserShifter Pro announces a ship date. Laser Interceptor USA(Cliff) will probably drop the MSRP to compete with the new jammer hitting the market. It's my opinion that Ivan with Laser Interceptor International probably licensed out a deal with Escort, especially since Escort is now under control of a new head. Mark my words that that MSRP of the Interceptor will go down to about $499.00 temporarily.

-o1B8d;o,}-g2. If Laser Interceptor made a licensing agreement with Escort you can bank on the fact Escort will be on their own or will receive "updates" AFTER Laser Interceptor receives them. Escort is probably manufacturing their own jammers and paying a fee for the code. The irony is Laser Interceptor settled with Blinder International. The argument could be made that Interceptors code falls under Blinder's code, but since the court case settled without public disclosure I can only speculate.

Laser Interceptor has issued updates faster than the competition, but Escort also has a fatter wallet. If the engineers at Escort can modify the firmware of their shifter/jammer, we may see updates come from Escort faster than any other jammer company. I'm so excited to see how this all plays out.
